Italian gem Oretta has opened its second location in midtown Toronto, Yonge and Eglinton neighborhood. The restaurant has amazing open space, with a modern and chic look. The service was excellent. All staff, from when you enter until you leave, were attentive and pleasant. The prices are reasonable. Have to say, the food was equally good and super delicious.
For the appetizer, three of us shared octopus (polipo) and sea bream (orata crudo) which is highly recommended. For the main meals, we had Porchetta pizza and two orders of pasta. One pasta was with pork sausage and rapini, and the other one with Sicilian Pistachio and shrimps. I can't say enough how good this green pistachio pasta was. Out of this world. You can't go to an Italian restaurant and not go for a Tiramisu. And you won't be disappointed either, one order is enough for at least 2 people. Another great dessert we had was Pastry with white chocolate and chestnut ganache. We were definitely full and satisfied. Cocktails looked good, but we still went with traditional Italian drinks and opted for a glass of Chianti - Torretta riserva. They have some good choices for the wine by the glass. All in all, a great place and can't wait to go back. Well done Oretta!
Update: We have been to Oretta Midtown several times afterwards. We tried their boards - seafood and meat, and both were delicious and amazing to share among several people.
They have Monday to Friday Aperitivo Menu, with all items from $6 to $11. And plus, their patio looks fantastic!
