Book Review: Atlas Shrugged

The Book Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
Atlas Shrugged

"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, is a huge book, both from the size and its content. It is an old book published in 1957 with more than 1200 pages. This is the book you either love or you don't. Your opinion will be based on many aspects including but not limited to your views on business, profit, your views on objectivity, versions of the truth, your political affiliations.

The main characters Dagny and Hank are both dedicated to their businesses and running them with hard work, integrity, courage, and responsibility. On two other ends, there are two completely opposite groups of people. On one side, there are people who call themselves "mind" and are dedicated to bringing justice to the world (as they perceive it). The group they opposed to are corrupted businessmen and government officials who are using all means to achieve what they want and at any cost. Reading this book, you are constantly challenged to think about good vs. evil, selfishness vs. sacrifice, love vs. sex, human relationships...If you read this book with an open mind, without naming the sides, without the notion of capitalism, socialism and whatnot, but as human behavior, I believe you will enjoy it. Definitely, a lot to think about.
